AP: ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE AT THE END-TIME – Satan’s Weapon of Mass Destruction

ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE (full edition with culled articles from Charisma Magazine)

Who are you listening to? It matters what you believe sir!

Never underestimate how much Satan hates you. He loathes you with an icy hatred that exceeds any ire you have faced on this earth. His hatred is ultimately directed toward God.

When Satan recognized Jesus as God’s Son, his hate and fear compounded. On one occasion the demons cried out, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” (Mark 1:24). On another occasion the demons cried out to Jesus, “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?” (Matt. 8:29).

Satan is God’s creation—never forget that. He was not created evil; he became evil. We have an enemy whose hatred of God is also directed at us. When Satan was cast down, taking with him all those who entered into his conspiracy, he devoted himself to blinding men and women. He blinds them by exploiting their hate, their jealousy and their desire for self-vindication and vengeance.

All he ever does is attempt to defeat God. He is deceived, telling himself he will somehow win in the end. Although he knows his doom is sure, he still tries his best to take all he can with him to hell.

The next time the devil, called the accuser in Revelation 12:10, reminds you of your past, remind him of his future: “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur … [He] will be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10).

Satan may win some battles, but God has won the war.

What the devil does, then, is tempt us. He masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). He comes like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Pet. 5:8)

Matthew 13: 31-32
There is a pressure build up on the society all around us.
The media is largely controlled by satanic forces.

Example:
Pastor Rick Warren, the best-known name in American evangelism after Rev. Billy Graham, lost his 27-year-old son, Matthew, to suicide on April 5.

In the days since, uncounted strangers have joined the 20,000 congregants who worship at the megachurch network “Pastor Rick” built in Southern California, Warren’s nearly 1 million Twitter followers and hundreds of thousands of Facebook followers in flooding social media with consolation and prayer.

But a shocking number are taking the moment of media attention to lash out at Warren on their digital tom-toms. The attacks are aimed both at him personally and at his Christian message.

Some unbelievers want to assure Rick and Kay Warren, his wife and Matthew’s bereaved mother, that there’s no heaven where they’ll meet their son again.

“Either there is no God, or God doesn’t listen to Rick Warren, despite all the money Rick has made off of selling false hope to desperate people,” one poster from Cincinnati wrote in to USA Today.

In another comment, the same poster counsels Warren to “abandon primitive superstitions and accept the universe for what it is—a place that is utterly indifferent to us.”

Some rush to add pain to the Warrens’ world because, in their view, he did not show sufficient compassion for the unremitting pain suffered by gay youths rejected by parents and peers. They were outraged when Warren took a political stand for Proposition 8, which overturned legal same-sex marriage in California in 2008 and is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.

DECEPTION:
Strong Delusions Rising

Deception—and even the strong delusions that will characterize the end times (2 Thess. 2:11)—is already rising in the body of Christ. And it’s far beyond the much-hyped prosperity gospel that mimics New Age philosophies in pursuit of the mighty dollar. Mind you, I’m not against prosperity, and indeed I’m very prosperous. But the love of money is a root of all evil (1 Tim. 6:10), and too many prosperity preachers have fallen into deception by getting caught up in the Babylonian paradigm instead of seeking first the kingdom.

Yes, there is a strong delusion manifesting in the church today that goes far beyond the much-hyped prosperity gospel. As Steve Hill pointed out in his recent article, “The 7 Great Lies in the Church Today,” there’s also an exaggerated view of grace, antinomianism, the deification of man, the challenge of the authority of the Word, the rejection of hell and universal reconciliation.

How do these (and other) deceptions creep in? And how can you guard yourself from strong delusion? One way is to take heed to the many warnings sounding out from prophetic voices in this generation—and in the Bible. Jesus warned us not to be deceived. Paul warned us not to be deceived. Peter warned us not to be deceived. John warned us not to be deceived. James warned us not to be deceived. You can hardly read a chapter in the New Testament that doesn’t issue a warning against deception. And yet deception is dominating some camps in the church.

Accepting Charismatic Heresy

Again, what’s going on? Deception is a major sign of the last days, and we’re seeing deception rise at a rapid clip as megachurch preachers stand before the masses, preach heresy and sell thousands of books. The saints heap praise on false apostles, false prophets and false teachers. Pride is driving people, many of whom aren’t even called into fivefold ministry, to don extravagant titles like “Official Prophetess” and “Chief Apostle Bishop Dr.” and “Master Prophet Bishop.” What happened to the bondservants? The lack of discernment in the body of Christ is disturbing. Where are the lovers of the truth (2 Thess. 2:10)?

How do you protect yourself from the spirit of error? I believe being a student of the Word is one safeguard against deception. Paul told Timothy, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15). Right after that, he spoke of Hymenaeus and Philetus, who had “strayed concerning the truth” and were “saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some” (2 Tim. 2:18). In other words, they were preaching a false gospel.

Charismatic heretics are overthrowing the faith of some even now, preaching a false gospel. That’s why you can’t just be a lover of the Word someone else preaches. You have to study the Word yourself. You have to measure every message you read or hear against the Word of God for yourself. Don’t just check to see if the Scripture is in your Bible, but study its meaning in the context of the chapter, book and entire Bible. When you do, much of the heresy is quickly discerned. But the church at large is lukewarm and lazy, preferring to feast on flashy sermons without lifting a finger to open their own Bibles.

THE DANGER OF EMOTIONAL IDOLATRY

This idolatry of emotions renders us vulnerable to believing any lie we’re told, as long as the liar can make us feel something, be it excitement, anger, outrage, self-importance or even love. In the political world, for instance, the party that can best inspire emotion in the electorate prevails, regardless of the logic of the issues (or lack of it).

In the church, morals and standards of righteousness have fallen into a wholesale state of deterioration because the idolatry of feelings tells us that what feels right is right, regardless of the clear teaching of God’s Word. We live in a time when most people in our culture don’t think. Instead, they “feel,” and they believe that what they feel is truth.

Most of what we see on television (both news and entertainment) and read in magazines, on blogs and in books is crafted to generate an emotional response and, in feeling it, to accept the feeling as truth.

Critical thinking—objectively identifying what is right and differentiating that from mere visceral, emotional responses—is simply bypassed. This affects moral judgment, leaving us susceptible to moral compromise when such compromise “feels” right to us as a result of the constant conditioning we’ve experienced or when it promises some kind of reward.

The surrounding culture exerts relentless pressure, reaching into and subtly conditioning our doctrines, practices and sense of righteousness when the opposite should be true. We should be influencing the culture as leaven of the kingdom of God.

The result of this cultural influence and its idolization of feelings has been the inevitable shipwreck of so many lives and ministries that we now have diminished moral credibility in the eyes of the world we seek to impact. The culture tells us there are no moral absolutes and that whatever you choose to believe is your own truth if it “works for you.” Thus, too much of the Christian world has adopted a standard based not on an eternal plumb line but on our own shifting moods and feelings.

In a recent discussion regarding a significant cultural shift now underway that flies in the face of a clear biblical, moral prohibition, someone asked my son and co-pastor, “Why can’t we just go with the culture?” My son gave a brilliant reply: “That was what got 6 million Jews exterminated in World War II.” In the absence of the absolute law of God embedded in Scripture, what the mass of people felt when the media of the day manipulated their emotions came to be accepted as truth. When societies divorce themselves from the standard of God’s Word, destruction inevitably follows.

Godly reasoning identifies the right and calls on feelings to follow after. Feelings are a good thing, a gift of God, but only when brought under the discipline of God’s eternal Word, every line of which is God-breathed love designed to ensure that we live well and avoid unnecessary suffering.

The prophet cried, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jer. 17:9, NASB). How then should we function? The apostle Paul knew the truth: “For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:16).

I would suggest that God gave us emotions to enjoy and to alert us to pleasures, dangers and the condition of our inner man—not for the purpose of making decisions. For decision-making, He gave us the capacity to reason in order that we might objectively identify the right thing to do on the basis of God’s Word and then discipline the heart to follow after. Under discipline, the heart follows the direction set by a redeemed mind. Left to themselves, emotions generate delusion. Will we think with our feelings or with a Holy Spirit–inspired capacity to reason?

In short, in these crucial days God calls us to reject the emotional idolatry of the culture around us, to return to the plumb line of the Scriptures—to an accurate understanding of them—and to see in them the imprint of the Father’s heart, His love and His blessing. “’Come now, and let us reason together,’ says the Lord” (Is. 1:18).

This is not the spirit of religion, nor is this legalism. Revealed in every line of Scripture is the selflessness of the cross, the love of the Father and the way to live well, in wholeness and in peace. It is the gift of grace by the Holy Spirit, and it works.

Despite the Atmospheric Pressure, Christians who are living and doing the Will of God MUST be bold, and proud to be Christians!
It is those people who live in sin and debauchery that ought to be living in shame
(2Corinthians 4:2)

Personal experience with negative AP:
Recall the May 2012 Teaching Conference on “What in the World is going on?”
I made some illustrations on deceit based on what goes on in my industry – on Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Clients, etc.
It invoked victimisations, indignations, etc against me and my firm.
Boy! Was I full of despair, sorrow and regret? That was AP!

Christian Leaders, Televangelists in Jail?

The controversial prophetic preacher, recording artist and author was arrested and carted to Lew Sterrett Justice Center—and spent the night there—after failing to show up at a Dallas civil proceeding that named her as a defendant.Newpapers, online magazines and bloggers across the coutry are buzzing this week about televangelist Juanita Bynum landing in jail.

The case involves a judgment that ordered her to shell out $140,000 to ALW Entertainment. Apparently, she did not follow through on a commitment to perform in a play ALW was producing. Charisma News contacted Bynum’s office Wednesday but did not receive a response.

Of course, Bynum is hardly the only television evangelist to sit behind bars. Last July, Maryland pastor Robert J. Freeman, a televangelist who lived in a $1.75 million home with five fireplaces and two four-car garages, was sentenced to 27 months in prison related to a bankruptcy case. Also known as “Dr. Shine,” the charismatic pastor was convicted forhiding church assets so he could get out of paying a mountain of debt faith couldn’t move.

“Freeman lived a life of fraud and deception, using millions of dollars from church members, and fraudulently obtained credit to pay for luxury cars and a mansion while falsely representing in court that he was indigent,” Maryland U.S. attorney Rod J. Rosenstein said in a statement.

Who could forget televangelist Creflo Dollar landing in jail for allegedly choking his daughter? Charges were later dropped, but his mug shot appearing in media headlines caused quite a stir. Televangelist Eddie Long didn’t land in jail, but the civil suits against him have piled up. Some hoped doomsday prophet and televangelist Harold Camping would be arrested for his false prophecies about the end of the world that led so many astray.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of televangelists who have had brushes with the law. But it was somewhat exhausting to recall all of these scandals. Believe me, I don’t like reporting on them any more than you like reading them. But if we turn a blind eye to these issues—or let the secular media take the lead—we are neglecting our responsibility as Christian media. (I’m sure that statement will drive plenty of debate, but are we really supposed to ignore anything negative that happens in the body of Christ, even when it’s all over the secular media? There’s a difference between responsible reporting and heresy hunting.)

So I said all that to ask this: Why do so many televangelists land themselves in jail? Many famous Christian preachers have been in jail—I’ve been in jail—but that’s supposed to be part of your pre-Christian testimony rather than the event that brings reproach on your ministry.

So I said all that to ask this: Why do so many televangelists land themselves in jail? Many famous Christian preachers have been in jail—I’ve been in jail—but that’s supposed to be part of your pre-Christian testimony rather than the event that brings reproach on your ministry.

I’m not here to throw stones or drag anyone’s name through the mud. But we need to deal with this problem in the church. So I’ll ask the question once again: Why do so many televangelists land themselves in jail? Are they being falsely accused? Perhaps sometimes. Did they fall into temptation? Certainly that’s happened. Did they slide into deception that greed introduces? I think that’s the answer more times than not.

When you look at the list of televangelists that have landed in jail, you’ll notice a running theme: greenbacks, big bucks, mighty dollars, finances, Benjamins, dead presidents, dinero, moolah, dough, riches, lucre—money. Then again, it’s not really the greenbacks, big bucks, mighty dollars, finances, Benjamins, dead presidents, dinero, moolah, dough, riches, lucre—the money. It’s the greed.

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1 Tim. 6:10). That’s why the writer of Hebrews warns us, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” (Heb. 13:5). I’ll stop there. Amen.

A:  WHO ARE YOU LISTERNING TO?

2 Chronicles 18: 1 – 7

To understand what is happening here, we must go back to chapter 17 and examine who Jehoshaphat was.

Can you imagine the AP or better said, environmental pressure on Micaiah at this point?

Yet he said I will prophesy to the King what the Lord tells me to!

The questions I have for us today is “What voice are you and I listening to?”

Before you step out to your work-a-day world,
What voice have you allowed to influence you?
What voice is conditioning your soul (mind)?
What AP are you succumbing to?

Before making decisions, what audible resonance is stimulating intelligible vibrations to your eardrum’s membrane, which is transformed to the canvas of your heart?

Ponder on these questions for a minute.

I am the Lightman and I just have THREE (3) undeniable CONSIDERATIONS for us to view:

1.     Many people seek only counselors whose words are appealing.
1Tim. 4, heed to seducing spirits
       2Tim. 4: 3,4 heap into themselves teachers

2.    The Wise seek only Godly counsel, even though it contain no flattery and is often hard.
       Proverbs. 9:7-9
        Eccl. 7: 5
        1Thess. 5:21

3.    The THREE (3) TESTS to DISCERN VOICES:

Test 1 – The Concrete Block Test
              2 Tim. 3:16

Test 2 – The Character Test
              Matt. 7:16-20
              Matt 12: 33
You will know a tree by its fruit
              Be careful of impressive counterfeits

Test 3 – The Conscience Test

B:  WHAT YOU BELIEVE MATTERS SIR!

Do you think doctrine is essential?
Many churches have rejected doctrinal teachings outrightly, or relegated it to the background at the expenses of minors. They think it is harsh, hard and unloving.

Whereas it is the SUBSTANCE of what we are to preach and teach. It does not matter if we all go to church and say we are doing service, what doctrine are we teaching?
Which Jesus are we presenting to the people? A wimp? A father Christmas? An idol of our creation?

Isa. 55:10-11

What is doctrine?
The word appears in 50 verse in NT

We must separate DOCTRINE from DOGMA.
What is dogma? What are creeds?
DOGMAS are human ideas of settlements.
CREEDS: when we sit in theological committees of elders councils and agree on set of truths to set forth. We negotiate truths to adopt and those to downplay or delete.
If we go this way, we annoy some section of the church, if we go that way, we make that group too powerful, so we take middle approach!

Biblical Doctrine will impact your life with supernatural power of God. Creed is nothing but human idea with no life sustaining power.
When you preach doctrine, you bring supernatural LIFE CHANGES into the lives of the people!

Isa. 28g who shall He make to understand doctrine?
Mark 1:27 what new doctrine is this?

9 Critical Habits That We Must Start Avoiding As Penticostal/Charismatic Believers

Please pray over this list before you blast me for being critical.

1. The body slam. There are times when people feel woozy or weak-kneed when the Holy Spirit touches them. I leave room for that. But can we please stop pushing people to the floor? Any minister who hits, shoves or slaps people at a church altar is being extremely rude. He is also relying on his own swagger to demonstrate he has the power to “slay” people in the Spirit. If you pushed someone to the floor, God had nothing to do with it.

2. The courtesy drop. We’ve all done it. Many people fall while receiving prayer because they figure it’s the spiritual thing to do. But there is nothing in Scripture that says you have to fall to receive healing or an anointing. You receive by faith. It’s perfectly fine to stay standing. And you may actually protect yourself from getting stepped on!

3. The song that never ends. I used to love the chorus “Let It Rain” until some churches drove this tune into the ground by playing it 159 times in a row. After the first 30 go-rounds, I want to scream, “Change the channel!” God doesn’t listen to us more intently if we are repetitive, as if we were doing a rain dance to make Him hear us. It’s OK to end the song and start a new one!

4. The amateur flag corp. Banners and flags became a hot worship trend in the 1980s, and pageantry can still be effective when practiced and performed for an audience. But where did we get the idea that waving flags, sticks or other sharp objects within two feet of people’s faces was a smart idea?

5. The wannabe telethon offering. I have been in meetings where the preacher gave a 25-minute offering sermon (before the main message) and then asked everyone in the audience to parade to the front for the next 15 minutes. Yes, giving money to God is worship. But when the offering takes longer than any other part of the service, I start to wonder if we are being taken for a ride.

6. The sermon with seven endings. Speaking of money, I wish I had a dollar for every time a preacher has said, “I’m starting to close.” I don’t mind a long sermon, and I’ve been guilty of going over my time limit. But you are flat-out lying if you tell an audience you’re finishing when you actually still have half an hour to go.

7. The praise-a-go-go dancers. I love to dance in church—and it’s normal in many of the ethnic congregations I visit. But I fear we unleashed a monster when we encouraged amateur dance teams to hop around on stage in unitards—in front of visitors! It’s not unspiritual to ask: “Will this look goofy?”

8. The ear-shattering amp. When the early church prayed, the buildings shook. Today we shake our buildings by turning up the volume of our sound systems. You know they are too loud when church members pop in earplugs during worship. “Charismatic” does not mean “loud,” and our spirituality is not measured in decibels.

9. The “jump-start” glossalalia. I will never apologize for the gift of tongues, and I believe it is a wonderful gift every Christian can have. But somone got the idea they could “prime the pump” by asking people to repeat certain phrases in order to uncork a prayer language. Asking someone to say, “I tie my bow tie, I tie my bow tie,” is not going to prompt a miracle. Quit manipulating the Holy Spirit.

The apostle Paul, in laying down guidelines for charismatic gifts, told the Corinthians, “When I became a man, I put away childish things” (1 Cor. 13:11). As we embrace the Spirit’s work, let’s allow Him to guide us into maturity so we don’t foolishly squander His power.

 God is our goal!
